Virginia F. (Ginny) Badewitz Ginny was born in Brooklyn N.Y. and was a devoted Brooklyn Dodgers fan. She, and her husband Marty lived on Long Island N.Y., and first came to the Talbot Rod and Gun Club many years ago to compete in the club’s registered shoots. Once they retired, they moved to Cordova, Md. not far from the club where they became active members. Ginny was the club’s treasurer for several years. She was a member of both the New York and Maryland Skeet Hall of Fame. She passed away in 2012. After her passing, Talbot Rod & Gun Club, under the guidance of then skeet chairman Phil Willis, elected to rename the Weaver Jones Open in honor of Ginny. On April 7, 2013 the club hosted the Inaugural Virginia Badewitz Memorial Open, club member Craig Willis took top honors with a sweep of both gun champs as well as HOA with a score of 199x200.
